Walking with Dinosaurs: A Viewer’s Guide is a PBS special highlighting special moments from the hit series Walking with Dinosaurs. A crucial part of this special includes intersplicing the story of the fictional baby triceratops Clover, with infographics, illustrations and animations to learn more about the various dinosaurs that once roamed the earth.
In order to best convey the information presented, I created a library of assets including stylized illustrations of what paleontoligist speculated dinosaurs looked like, fossils, and maps.

The illustrations were used by the graphic designer and animator, Matt to create bold infographics. These infographics helped to point out details, scale, or other fun facts about the dinosaurs.
APPLICATION
Line art was kept bold and graphic.
Primary colors were used, with burst of pink, to keep a vibrant, fun and bold look.
After the second round of discussions the main note was more! More textures, more of the space filled up, more characters.

Finishing Touches
After getting positive reception, it was time to bring the illustration in photoshop to add a little bit of texture and noise, and of course, make it into a pattern.

The client decided to use this pattern on a notebook to advertise the Creative Apprenticeship. While I didn’t receive my copy yet, stay tuned to see!
